Sarah & Alexander Emmett were married on Galley Beach, June 10, 2017
Sarah and Alexander met by chance in an elevator during move-in day on their first day of college and the rest was history.
As beach lovers, it was only fitting that Alex got down on one knee and proposed at the couples favorite local beach with friends and family waiting for a celebratory dinner.
Their special day was a very intimate and joyous moment that the couple and their guests will never forget. Known for its stunning sunsets, the wedding took place on Nantucket’s, beautiful Galley Beach. Sarah’s ring is part of set of two earring hoops the late father of the Groom gave to the mother of the Groom. The first hoop went to Alex’s brother Jason for his Wedding in the previous year. The final hoop went to Sarah and Alex. The Bride wore beautiful pearls that her father gave to her mother on her 26th birthday. Sarah’s mom was also married in these pearls and Sarah has continued with this Wedding tradition. The Bride also wore diamond stud earrings that the Groom gave to her as a wedding gift
Nantucket holds special meaning for both the bride and grooms families. The Bride’s family has been calling Nantucket their summer home since Sarah was a young girl, she even found the land where her parents built their summer home. The Grooms family are actually descendants of the Mayflower on their paternal Grandmothers side, with many whaling captains in their history.
The night was filled with fresh land and sea entrees and get-up-off-your-chair music. When the guests weren’t on the dance floor, they were made to feel at home with open fire pits along with conformable and cozy couches. Accompanying the decadent wedding cake, guests indulged in a S’more bar, coffee, tea and libations next to the fire pits for dessert. The only regret the couple had was not booking the band for another hour. The night went by too fast and they did not want the spectacular night to end.
